Glutamine

Glutamine has two amino groups, namely the α-amino group and the easily-hydrolysable side-chain amide group, and these features enable the role played by glutamine as a nitrogen transporter and NH₃ carrier. Glutamine is also a proteinogenic amino acid, i.e., amino acids that are incorporated into proteins, and accounts for 5 to 6% of bound amino acids.
